Question 1: What are your thoughts on diversity in the work environment?
Answer 1: We have a very diversified workplace, which proves to be challenging at times, mostly due to the resistance to change by all employees. Multiple benefits were noticed immediately upon opening our restaurant and continue to benefit us. I would say that the largest advantage is our ability to service a broader range of customers with over the top satisfaction.
Question 2: Do you give employees empowerment?
Answer 2: Yes, our employees obtain the knowledge and skills to handle specific situations themselves during training. Empowering our employees achieves several positive outcomes including higher employee satisfaction and our customer responsiveness is second to none. A secondary effect to empowering our employees decreases their work load of the already busy shift manager. As we do empower our employees, we require that they notify their supervisor and allow him/her to follow-up with the complication.
Question 3: What is your policy on flex-time and is it more cumbersome to upper management?
Answer 3: I agree whole heartedly with the idea of flex-time. It allows employees to create their own schedule within the regulations of our company. It does not place any burden on upper management. We employee a very diversified group of personnel and arranging a schedule is quite easy. We do distinguish flex-time as a reward; entry level-staff do not receive that benefit upon immediate
