“It goes without saying that when survival is threatened, struggles erupt between peoples”. In the book, Lord of the Flies all these English school boys were put on a plane to get away from the war and their plane had actually crashed in the Pacific Ocean near an island. Now on this island there were no adults, so they had to create a civilization and find a way to survive without them. Even though the boys had tried to create a civilization on this island to survive, they failed, simply because they were too young. Some of the times that they had struggled to survive was when they had problems with who the leader was, when they had to hunt for the first time in their lives, and when Ralph had to outrun the tribe because they wanted to kill him.

One thing the boys had to do to survive was having to hunt, which is something they have never done before. Hunting was all new to them, and it's not something they particularly wanted to do, but they didn't have a choice. They faced some challenges here on this island while they were trying to survive. One problem was they needed food, in which they would have to hunt to get and hunting is something they've never done before.
