One archetypal character from Japanese mythology is the god Susanoo, the storm god. As the storm god, he was chaotic and a burden. Susanoo falls into just an archetype category that pertains to the role of a destructive male or a unruly neutral character because of his nature and actions. Similar to Bart Simpson, a devious child from The Simpsons, Susanoo is seen as a burden to his community. Many referred to him as “troublesome” for his actions. As the storm god, Susanoo was known to complain and also known as the “Ferocious Virulent Male God”. Susanoo in some cases was a trickster, bringing chaos with him, similar to Satan who like Susanoo was also was banished to Hell/Yomi.

This can be tied similarly to Pinocchio because they both cause issues and they are known for their nose. Pinocchio's nose extends when he tells a lie. Susanoo was born malignant and often depicted with an abnormally large nose. In today’s society, many anti-semantic people tend to stereotype Jewish people with having big noses. Their derivation of this notion can be found universally as an archetype in itself. Susanoo falls under this archetype because he is labeled as an entity that shouldn’t be trusted. Considering that, Amaterasu didn't trust him and challenged him in a contest to test his good faith.
