When writing a story, there is a certain amount of involvement with the characters the author aims for. What the author wants is for all the readers to become deeply involved with the characters which may bring about emotion. Different emotions can be created by different situations. Bringing happiness into a story is simple since it requires few situations that lead up to one situation where this is exploited. However, bringing suspense requires a clever trail of events that lead up to main events. In order to bring suspense properly the author would need to have certain aspects of storytelling. Suspense may be integrated by using these aspects if you deeply understand them. However, if you choose the wrong characters for a suspenseful situation the readers won’t care about whether the situation turns out to be positive or negative. Sometimes, it is the way the story is depicted. Another article by Melanie Kendry on Curve Learn has simple tips to include suspense in the story using elements such as short sentences or fragments. Short sentences or fragments bring abrupt information and confusion which interests the reader. Despite whereas these small tips merely help to bring suspense while the main aspects of suspense are what create it, these are necessary in stories which include suspenseful situations. Bringing suspense makes a story interesting if it is used properly. These aspects are necessary to bring suspense because they create it in various ways which brings me back to my original thesis, in order to bring suspense properly the author would need to have certain aspects of storytelling.
