Sweatshops cause the children and the work area to not be proud of what they bring home. They were also in a bad working environment while pregnant. The sweatshops should not be a place for little children, pregnant women, and old people. The children and adults did not like working in the sweatshops, but they had to, because only one out of the household was able to bring money home and support them. The people in the sweatshops can not afford to handle or raise a family with the pay they are getting(Hartley-Brewer, par.10). Sweatshops were not healthy for the workers and due to the dangerous products the labor laws were created. Although sweatshops were a useful convenience, the people who worked for them were at risk, because they worked like slaves, poor safety conditions, and child labor. Most sweatshops are destroyed by fires, and since they have bad working conditions many children are killed. “Most sweatshops of child labor factories killed most employees from fires” (Robert, par.10). The fires are from the equipment that the children are not trained for. In the shops, they would get beat if they messed up any product. “If there was any mistake in the clothing stitches or if any product was not done right they would get beat and would not get paid for the week” (Robert, par.10).
