Myron Levoy’s story, “Aaron’s Gift” has some very special symbolism. And by symbolism, there are so many unique and wonderful objects that mean more to the characters than others. For example, Aaron’s grandmother had a very special pet goat, when she was younger. Soon Cossacks came to massacre the village, killing her goat. This puts his grandmother with sorrowful memories of losing a beloved pet. As the storyline goes on, Aaron finds himself loving a wounded pigeon he is taking care of. Furthermore, the neighborhood gang wanted him to join them and also sacrifice the poor pigeon. When Aaron realizes this, he runs away from the boys and his pigeon flies away in the process.
