Symbolism In Antigone

One day I want every tiny baby swaddled in pink or blue to feel like their gender doesn't matter: that it doesn't affect how people view them, or the expectations laid out for them, or their future profession or lifestyle. I want the next generation to be the one to see a world without pink and blue filters, without female or male traits blurring their ideas and perspective, and with a confidence in the fact that who they are doesn't need changing or conforming or reshaping. But this hope is insulted by the themes and symbolism in Antigone as a result of the realization that the play was written 2,400 years ago, yet the beliefs and themes outlined are still prominently present in today's society without provoking outrage of all those affected.
