Mostly all parents do everything they can to protect their young ones. In the play “Fences” by August Wilson, the title has more significance than a symbol of protection. It has many significance because the title is plural. Some of the significance of the title is isolations, keeping people out and protecting the family. For Troy the fence can be a symbol of isolation. Most of the time he wants everything his way, and he dislike people that don’t please him.
