The Masque of the Red Death is an allegory that explain how key leadership is in times of crisis is. There is 3 main symbols that show that he did not lead. One of these symbols is the castle. Him and 1000 of his other friends hid away from this awful disease. Hoping that everyone was going to be ok. But everyone was not ok. The second symbol is the ball. The ball had one of the most important events of the story. This was that the man came in and whoever he looked at died. Also it was awful of him to have a ball when everyone was dieing.
