the metamorphosis: Life through symbolism a big part of kafkas the metamorhposis is maneuvering through a dense cloud of interpretations. but in reality its all reflectios of an intersting life. most authors use writing techniques to relate their writing to real life, Kafka transforms his own life into stories through the use of symbols. the metamorphosis is an unfortunate story about gregor samsa; a man who works to support his family finacially by working everyday of his life, until one day he has the misfortune of waking up as a bug. C.J Umphrey and C.L. Hogue have collected over 100 modern books and almost as many short stories where insects play a mojr role. (Dr. Hogue, par. 7) we could conclude from this there must be many or at the least as much books in the coming to this point. insects are used to express moods and feelings, usually being more on the negative side.
