Stereotypes around America change how we view people everyday, one example being the ideal “All-American boy.” The All-American boy is a “dutiful son”, being sporty, smart, kind, staying out of trouble, and having an “All-American 3.5 GPA,” but nobody looks beneath the surface of the seemingly picture-perfect boy. Instead of seeing an actual person, all anyone sees in Quinn is his “dad, the savior who sacrificed for all of us. He sacrificed for the good of our country. He died in the name of freedom,” but all Quinn wants is to be his own person. He wants to not be constantly reminded of the role model he is expected to be.
