Lucie Manette was described as the ideal woman of her time. Many people today also believe this is true. Lucie had many characteristics that makes her the perfect woman. She was able to bless so many people during her life. Such a great number of men today would love to have had Lucie as a spouse. The first impression of Lucie that people saw was her traits. Miss Lucie Manette was introduced to the reader in Book 1, Chapter 4, Page 19. Dickens described her as “a young lady of not more than seventeen… with golden hair, a pair of blue eyes,” (pg,19). The beautiful blonde hair was considered very attractive. She was a kind person to everyone she met. She was hardly, if ever, rude to anyone. Along with being such a nice person, she was also very helpful to people in her life. The first person she helped was her father. He had been in prison for eighteen years. He was imprisoned for reporting crimes against the Darney family. Due to the fact he was her father, she helped him recover and return into society. By welcoming him into her house she was able to give him a normal life again. Another person she helped was Sydney Carton. He was a drunkard and never really had anyone close to be with, for many years. Lucie was a close friend of his. She showed him what a true relationship was and helped him change to become a better person. Mr. Lorry was another person she was able to help. When Lucie first met Mr. Lorry he was a business man with no emotions. He had helped her find and resurrect her father. In return she let him be part of their family. Being part of this family gave Mr. Lorry real connection and the ability to form emotions. Lucie Manette was a great woman and any person would be lucky to have her
