Since Tanglewood top is highly committed to improving customer service quality and cost isn’t an option. I think there are several measures of effectiveness and quality for Tanglewood. Tanglewood can decide to conduct internal recruitment or decided to go with hiring for specific positions externally (external recruitment). If Tanglewood is not able to fill a position internally, then they will have the option of using external measure to fill specific positions (2 step process). Either way Tanglewood will have to emplace certain controls to screen potential employees ensuring they have the right set of customer service oriented KSAOs.

External recruitment

I believe using Employment Agencies (EA) proves to be the most effective measure to ensure that Tanglewood hires employee with customer service oriented KSAOs. This type of staffing measure meets Tanglewood’s goal of hiring personnel that can improve customer service. And here is why:

* Customer service jobs are usually the lower-level jobs within the organization (cashier, store clerks) and using Employment Agencies (EA) will provide Tanglewood with a pool of applicants to choose from. * One of the most attractive cases for using an EA is that all applicants are pre-screened. This gives Tanglewood the control of ensuring that applicants are only considered if they only meet certain customer service oriented KSAOs. * Since cost isn’t an option, the various fees charge by the EA really do not matter. * The impact is that it improves the customer service person/job match for Tanglewood, which is its main goal in this scenario.

Internal recruitment I believe using Talent Management and Nominations are the
