Taoism is a tradition of Chinese origin that is classified as religious or spiritual. Taoism emphasizes on living in harmony with the Tao. Tao means way or principle and can also be found in Chinese philosophies and religions other than Taoism. In Taoism roots come from chinese customs and worldview. Another name that Taoism is referred to as is Daoism.

What Taoism bases on is the tao. Tao means the way or path to most, but it is not this exactly in Chinese. The belief is that all things are unified and connected in the Tao. It is a pretty old Religion as it was created over two-thousand years ago. The symbol most people see represents Yin and Yang, which express the forces that hold the world together. Even though they are opposites they are believed to be essential. The opposites are light and dark, hot and cold, good and bad, etc.

The first example shown in the book on Taoism and probably the most appearing is in T.J’s name. The book reveals that his full name is Tao Jones. Most probably he was named after the belief of Taoism. There are many more examples shown in this book that show how important and focused on Taoism is to the plot and characters.

A part in the book where the connection to Taoism is shown is where he gets angry and confused. Taoism shows flowiness and balance. This is not balance as his anger and impatience is overpowering his happiness and confidence. His personality shows that Taoism is very apparent in his life. This one of the more specific examples of how important Taoism is in this book, how it connects to each other.
