Roles and responsibilities of a Teacher

The main role of the teacher is to facilitate communication in such a way that all students are encouraged to enter into a wider discussion surrounding the topic they have chosen. The main responsibility of the teacher is to continually reassess development and change during the course and create a seamless transition to ensure smooth delivery.

It is the teacher’s responsibility to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of their delivery by taking into account learners changing needs.
Sessions incorporating visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning styles ensures students have equal rights to learning and provide the opportunity to re-evaluate what is already known while exploring aims and objectives from a different perspective. Teacher’s role is to create a safe learning environment to establish open and trusting relationships. Recording changes by completing relevant admin ensures records are up to date in order to evaluate changes to forth coming aims and objectives.

As tutor I would do the informal interview with learner investigating their background into their needs, any disabilities which might hinder or potentially be an issue without specialist equipment or support. This would also be an opportunity to see what the learner has already achieved and done previously aspersions of the learner can also be talked about which could potentially give the opportunity to see what additionally is required in supporting the learner through this process of achievement.

Health and safety is a crucial part of the organisations policy and procedures this is an important legislation which provides protection to all learners and staff members. During the induction week and during intake of new student’s health and safety of the building which includes the buildings fire exit routes and assembly points. All training rooms and communal area’s display the nearest escape routes. Fire extinguishers are regularly services and are accessible by all the trained members of staff who annually get trained on using this equipment. The building also has access to several first aid points where fully replenished first aid boxes are available and notice of nominated person is displayed. All members of staff are first aid trained. Particularly in the IT training room the following are considered like coats to be hung on the coat rack provided, additional bags to be placed in a safe place. The lighting has to be at a decent level, computer chairs to be adjustable, room temperature to be controlled at a reasonable level.
