Dear Judge Pierce Weatherbee, I’m writing you in regard to Taylor and Turtle and the fact that people might not see her fit to be turtles legal guardian, I am going to tell you why she should get legal guardianship of the young lady. I am a friend of the women, I have been for years and I’ve seen what Taylor herself can do and I have been able to see the love and connections that she has made with the young lady and how much it has helped her open up her eyes to what life is really about. The facts that we know about the young girl is that she was born in Plymouth, it was hard to determine when especially when an elderly woman just dropped the young lady off in her car. She didn’t know what was happening but no matter she cares for the one child as though it was her own. She got home that night and I remember her telling me that she went to give the young lady a bath and saw the worst, she saw the bruises that this poor infant had all over and knew that she was a child of abuse. Young turtle is starting to remember her birth mother and how she died, and sadly even watching her get buried. But she has also remembered her own name and its April. She’s learning to live and laugh and love and how to be a smart little girl. But she didn’t learn these things on her own she learned them from Taylor, Taylor taught her how to speak and have the imagination that a young lady needs to have. Taylor helps her see the brighter side of things and helps her move on from the past that affected her so young. This child has spent a lot of time with Taylor and established a real trust and connection with her, to take her away from the women she will know as her primary caregiver and motherly figure would be to return the young girl to the sadness and fears that Taylor has helped her comes to terms with and not be afraid of
