During transitions it is important that practitioners demonstrate a range of professional skills that are required for effective practice. One professional skill that is required through transitions is good communication. It is important that practitioners have good communication with parents, carers and other professionals such as the teacher form the other setting through transition because it is important that they share information effectively with each other about the child such as what the child's like at home or in the setting. In the setting the practitioner may communicate with the parents and teacher from the other setting by having regular meeting. It is also important that practitioners have the ability to build a positive relationships with parents. They should also have the ability to plan specific activities such as circle time where the children can talk about how they are feeling. Practitioners are required to encourage positivity and optimism. It is important that practitioners are positive through the transition because this will make the children feel more positive and excited about going to another setting. In order to have effective practice it is important that practitioners have the ability to involve children. It is important that children are aware and understand what is happening. It is also important for practitioners to reflect on their success and challenges through the transition. If their was any challenges through the transition the practitioner should be able to reflect on what didn’t go so well and change it for the next
