Post: PE Teacher/Sports Coach
Salary: MPS for Qualified Teachers or Unqualified Teacher Scale for Sports Coaches
Responsible to: Key Stage Leader and the Headteacher
Purpose of the job: To deliver high quality PE and extracurricular activities, and cover as required.
Responsibility for the education and well being of pupils as part of the staff of the school, carrying out professional duties in accordance with and subject to the conditions of employment of teachers as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
Duties:
To conduct oneself and carry out all duties with regard for the school’s values and commitment to equality as stated in the school’s policy.
Implement the school’s agreed policies and guidelines.
To actively promote the school’s values.
Sharing and promoting the school ethos within the context of a whole school team, supporting liaison and a collegial relationship amongst the staff of the school.
To ensure that the individual progress, needs and general well-being of all children in your care is sensitively managed.
To have regard for individual pupils and make excellent provision for their needs.
Have high expectations of standards of work, achievement and the behaviour of all children.
To actively promote children’s physical development by organising and running extra-curricular opportunities and creating sporting opportunities within and beyond the school.
To set challenging targets for children’s achievement, monitor their progress and make appropriate provision to ensure their success.
Make provision for a broad and balanced curriculum in accordance with the school’s schemes of work and National Curriculum requirements.
