Sure, we all enjoy a party every now and then, if you’re of age maybe you could have a few drinks. But in a lot of cases, people tend to have one too many, this may lead us to have some major consequences in the near future, turning what was a fun night, into your worse nightmare. In Tears of a Tiger, the author Sharon Draper uses conflict to teach if you make poor choices you have to deal with the consequences. For example, conflict is shown when four characters have been in a wreck after drinking.This poor choice has terrible consequences. Rob says “Andy! Andy Help me-Help me-Oh God, please don’t let me die like this! Andy!” Andy can’t help Rob even though he knows Rob is burning to death. Another way this story shows conflict is when after Rob’s death, Andy says “I’m a little cold now-now that I think about it-cold inside, like there’s nothin’ there, or like my guts are frozen” This is conflict because Andy is suffering from the bad decisions he made; he feels like it’s all his fault Rob is dead. For example, there are 1.6 million deaths a year caused by texting and driving. This is honestly such a big price to pay for something that could have waited a few minutes. If they would have waited a few more minutes, then they would still be alive, so I guess what I'm saying is… was it truly worth it?Another poor choice affecting teens today is not working hard enough in school.Some of the smartest kids don’t even try; they just do the bare minimum. Sometimes kids that aren’t that intelligent study hard and really try to make good grades.If all kids applied themselves as best they could, then everyone could get into any college they wanted.
