The Brave New World has brought believable insights in our world today. The views that Huxley has brought forward is very realistic to today’s world. In the Brave New World, the world involved around technology. The civilization in the Brave New World is a perfect world that contains technology that did everything for the people. Although the world, seemed easier with technology, it also had really limited their society. Huxley provided a novel that made technology a useful power for humans but he also implies the danger of technology. In our world, Huxley predicted that people are so connected to technology that it has become part of their normal life. Technology has weaken people’s freedom and independence. Many young children at the age of five are using technology to provide their needs. For example, even at the meager age of five children are using technology to entertain themselves. In addition, technology had contributed a lot to comfort in one’s life. Children are conditioned to use technology so much that they begin to depend on it more often. By depending on technology so much, society allowed technology to replace the use of one’ mind. The children are conditioned to use technology when they grow up. In addition, the children that will become adults later on would not know how to function without technology because it prevents their ability to think. In The Brave New World, when John the savage wanted to be left alone in an island without the use of technology but the people in the civilized world would laugh at him. In today’s world, children would rely on technology such as computers, iPads,and iPhones that it will seem laughable that they can't do without technology. Although some are unaware of the consequences of using the drugs, more and more people are using drugs to relieve their pain. In the Brave New World, soma is used to treat everyone in the civilized world. Soma gives relief to the person to stop the pain and discomfort that they have. Soma is a governmentally provided drug to give the people living in Brave New World. Huxley predicted the reality of our life because more and more drugs will be used. Soma is the best tool that government has to control the population. For instance,it sedates,calms, and distracts a person from knowing what is wrong and right. In this circumstance, pain and illness are important factors when people come to abuse prescribed drugs for. Although, it is very tragic that there are people out there in our world that are willing to do whatever it takes to ease their pain and illness. However, the people who takes these drugs all end up dying from drug abuse. An example in this case is Prince. Prince did whatever it takes to be able to sleep comfortably but ended up dying from intoxication. He was not only taking proposal but other anti-anxiety drugs. For a man like Prince, stress had a big toll in his life and the only way to rid all the stress was by using drugs. Millions of people in our world are in the same situation as Prince.
