The rapid advancements in technology over the last one hundred years society has been predicting ways that it will progress with society. Technology is evolving the way people learn, communicate, and devote their time; however, it can be used adversely to govern society. By regulating the thoughts of individuals the controlling of a society is effectively portrayed in Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.’s “Harrison Bergeron”. People are enforced to be equal in every aspect, and individuals who demonstrate above average intelligence are required by law to wear “a little mental handicap radio in [their] ear” (Vonnegut 1) which “send[s] out some sharp noise to keep people from taking unfair advantage of their brains” (Vonnegut 1). In the end, placing a handicap
