In his speech from 1811, Shawnee leader, Tecumseh encouraged Indian tribes to unite and stand against Americans taking control of the Indian Territories. He explained that Natives had always helped white men survive by giving food, shelter and medicine since the first time white men had come to America. However, he pointed out that white men had been gaining power and desire for land relentlessly. Tecumseh explained the true intentions of white men; that they’ll cheat and kill anyone for their expedience.
