What is Mobile Telecommunications?

Cellular or the mobile telephones were the pioneer in the field of mobile telecommunications in the world as a whole. Mobile telecommunication devices like mobile phones are movable telecommunication device unit. mobile telecommunications allows people to communicate over a wide area by using a grouping of radio, telecommunication device, and computer technology.

Mobile telephony is the provision of telephone services to phones which may move around freely rather than stay fixed in one location. Mobile phones connect to a terrestrial cellular network of base stations (cell sites), whereas satellite phones connect to orbiting satellites. Both networks are interconnected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) to allow any phone in the world to be dialed. In 2010 there were estimated to be five billion mobile cellular subscriptions in the world.

Mobile telecommunications is the process of sending, transmitting and receiving information over a distance with the purpose of communicating. This form of signal transmission takes place with assistance of some sort of mobile device, such as a cellular phone, computer, or other wired or wireless device. The main benefit of mobile telecommunications is the ability to perform point-to-point or point-to-multipoint transmissions using either a digital or digitized analog signal. Basic transmission uses a series of protocols to send blocks or packets of information.
