Edgar Allan Poe did an amazing job of using literary devices of setting to create a dark and threatening tone in his short story “Tell Tale heart”. He did it by writing the details that showed his dark and threatening tone. He used the literary devices which include elapsed time, population, and time of day. Edgar Allan Poe did an awesome job of using the literary device of setting which is elapsed time. It tells that in the house it was the murderer and the police officers and its according to the topic because the murderer was feeling threatened that the police were searching for the old man because he didn't want the officers to know that he killed the old man.
