What if, in the future there was a world where you had to fight and find clues to be able to live. Whether you wanted to live or to die, you had to fight your way through life. You can witness this in many science fiction movies or books like The Game by Monica Hughes and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. To be able to go from surviving to thriving the characters had to use their creativity, tenacity, and innovation. Tenacity can be described as the trait of determination. In The Hunger Games and The Game, tenacity was an important trait for survival. The group showed their tenacity when they searched for water while playing the game. On page 68 Lisse says, “We can manage without food for a while, but in this heat we really need water.” This shows tenacity because it shows her knowledge and determination to survive. In The Hunger Games, Katniss cuts down the Tracker Jacker nest to get the other players to run away, so she can get down from the tree and survive.
