Terrorism Paper Terrorism is a critical issue that the world faces today. The stressful part is not knowing when an attack will happen and the location. Terrorism not only effects the people but the government as well because its purpose is a political reason. According to Federal Bureau Investigation (2016), “Terrorism is the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." The United States has had many attacks and attempted attacks against the government and citizens.

These acts were taking very seriously after the September 11 attack in 2001. This attack involved the Hijacking and skyjacking method were terrorist took over and held hostage people on planes. The attack included 19 militants with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda. They hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States including three states. Two of the planes went crashing into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane crashed into the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane into a field in Pennsylvania.
