Terrorism has been a difficult subject to define due to its ever-changing methodology. For example, the Oklahoma City bombing conducted by Timothy McVeigh was considered “The worst act of homegrown terrorism in the nation’s history”. Many people believe that the Muslim culture who carried out the World Trade Center attack was backed by religious ideologies. Terrorism is how you want to view it in regards to the methods, tactics, planning and completion of the plan. The end state of terrorism is achieved by instilling fear and discomfort to a society who refuse to conform. Discussed later in the body of this paper will further show how tactics change the way of terrorism respectively.
