Summary The word Navajo or Tewa Navahu means highly cultivated land. These Indians mainly lived in New Mexico and Arizona. They had a very simple lifestyle, but were very smart. They traded corn, cotton, bison meat, and tools and weapons. Their homes, called hogans, were made up of sticks, mud and treebark. Their doors would always face east to ensure that the sun would shine in. The Navajos were considered to be the smallest tribe of all indians.
The Navajos started to get involved in the war after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. They saw it as a direct attack on them and their land. They loved their land and everything in it. When we went down to the library to pick out books and I saw this one, I knew this would be a good topic to do. I did not start reading the book until about a month ago. As I was reading it, I would put sticky notes, sometime multiple, on a page with notes of things I was going to put in my report. I thought this method worked really well for me. As I was reading I worked on my powerpoint at the same time. This was really time efficient and kept the timeline for my project on track. The book was a really easy read, so it did not take me long at all to finish it. Reading probably took me a total of 2 hours because of the big font and pictures in it. Like I said, I did the presentation and the reading at the same time, so that did not take me any extra time. Typing up the whole report probably took me about an hour to initially type and an extra half an hour to revise and edit. This project was a lot easier to do than last semesters because of how early I started it.
