As humans we're constantly judging people because they're not like us. In the selections I've chosen, "What, Of This Goldfish, Would You Wish?" , "Texas Vs. Johnson", " The American Flag Stands For Tolerance" there are many examples of people judging or discriminating people because their opinions or thought are not the same as ours. In the readings that I have gathered, no matter the topic, people are going to disagree and people are going to be mean to each other.
In the text , "Texas Vs. Johnson", judgement is show towards Johnson because of how he chooses to show his disagreement with government policies. "Indeed, Texas' argument that the burning of the American Flag "is an act having a high likelihood to cause a breach of the peace,"[Line(s) 20-21 page 2]. In this sentence I feel that they are saying that Texas is looking down upon Johnson for burning the flag. Though legal, Texas believes what he did was wrong and they take it personally because of how dearly they hold the flag to their hearts.
