The 1919 World Series was an important example of how unsportsmanlike conduct has been an issue since sports started. One example of this is the scandal involving the Black Sox. They were accused of intentionally losing several games, including the World Series, in exchange for money from gamblers.
At one high school, a very violent fight broke out between two players on different teams at a basketball game. It resulted in injuries among many.A fight like this would usually result in the summoning of police, or criminal charges. However, since the fight occurred at a high school basketball game and it involved the players, no police were called and there were no charges because many people believe it is just the nature of the game.
