The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie is about a native american boy, named Arnold, who lives on the Rez with his family and best friend Roudy but, ends up going to school at a rich white school called Reardan and plays basketball. In this book, bullying is a big part of Arnold's life. For example, Arnold has a lot of disabilities and having a listhp is one of them so therefor, everyone calls him a retard twice a day (4). In the book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian Alexie shows us that bullying is humiliating and painful but, if you just get through it you will eventually overcome it. He gets bullied for things he can't control the most. For example, people would spin him around in circles, suddenly stop him and pont on his head a place they wanted to go. This is because Arnold had a big head and the kids would call him orbit (3). Arnold's best friend is Rouduy and he's very protective of Arnold. One time these 3 brothers named the Andersons beat Arnold up. But Roudy was not going to let them get away with that so he cut their braids off which in their town, it's the worse thing you can possibly do to an indian(21-22).
