Anne Frank

Anne Frank lived in a secret annex for two years wherein she wrote her about her life and experiences in her diary. Over the course of two years Anne wrote in her diary detailing her and her families traumatic ups and downs as they secretly lived in the annex. Anne’s diary tragically stops when Anne and everyone in the annex were discovered by the Nazi’s.

While Anne spent two years in the secret annex, she learned to live with major adjustments so as not to be found by the Nazi’s. An example of an adjustment is that everyone in the Annex could only wash at nine o’clock each Sunday.

Since the family was constantly in hiding they had to keep hushed voices, this being especially hard for the children. Due to the Nazi occupation Anne could no longer go outside, again this was very hard for Anne as she had to try to enjoy life while having no one to talk to. Because Anne was in hiding she did not attend a regular school, but fortunately she and the other children in the annex were homeschooled. All of these restrictions and changes seem to have put Anne is a depression.

In her diary Anne wrote about her feelings and anything she could think of to pass the time. With Anne’s stressful circumstances she was understandably depressed and wrote “I've reached the point where I hardly care if I live or die.” - February 3rd 1944. And then in another entry Anne writes about having hope. Anne’s wrote presumably about the Nazi’s stating, “I still believe that people are good at heart”. Throughout Anne’s diary she holds nothing back and puts every thought into words, “I hope I shall be able to confide in you completely, as I have never been able to do in anyone before, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and
