“Ding, ding, ding,” the bells start swinging. We heard from a messenger that our town was being attacked by Commander Henry. Tom, my father, knew it was time. He packed his stuff and warned Steven, my older brother, to get ready to leave. My sisters and I helped my father and older brother get ready to go to war.

“COME ON! LET'S GO!” Father said with a terrifying voice.

Steven ran straight to the table and quickly shoved the food in his mouth, leaving a mess. I gave him his musket and ammunition and he went off flying out of the front door. Steven really wanted to be in the army, and just turned 18 years old two months ago.

“Thanks Ricky, be safe,” Steven told me.

The next morning, I woke up and was out of balance like a baby taking his first steps. I thought my father and brother were back, but they were not. At this point I was worried that something happened to them. I felt like I was going to explode in fear. I soon hear from the other neighbors that there is an execution taking place in Jamestown, located at Commander Henry’s headquarters. I decided to go and see what's happening.

“Ava and Kyla, get your coats on, we need to go” I said, as I’m putting on my jacket.

I took the horse out and the sisters and I galloped away. A little after an half an hour we arrived. I saw huge ropes tied up on top of a pole. I wondered who was getting executed and why. A couple minutes later, two British officers brought up two men to the stage near the ropes. I see my brother and father looking down in fear. They look like they were traumatized. They both have massive cuts on their arms, necks, and legs.
