The Boston Massacre occurred after the colonists started heckling a local British soldier, causing more soldiers to come to his defense. During the altercation, a soldier’s weapon went off which resulted in a minor battle killing five people and wounding eight. This caused Parliament to abolish everything but the tea tax to maintain the peace. They also pulled their soldiers out of town and allowed them to be stationed nearby to patrol.
The distaste for the British continued to grow and Samuel Adams formed the Committee of Correspondence which allowed a group to address the American issues with the British, and band together to address these problems. The Boston Tea Party is an example of the result of the Committee of Correspondence. They informed the colonies that the British were not having to pay taxes on their tea, therefore allowing them the opportunity to supply tea for cheap to the

Patrick Henry, a farmer and storekeeper was one of the first to acknowledge this fact by announcing “Give me liberty or give me death”. The British ultimately decided to stop the rebel resistance by planning a surprise attack at Lexington. The Patriots discovered their plan and several members, Paul Revere and William Dawes warned the rebel leaders. Captain John Parker and his men assembled in Lexington to intercept the British. After the protest ended in bloodshed to the Rebel men, the British continued to Concord, leaving destruction in their path. Upon leaving Concord the British were met with gunfire from the towns people effectively alerting the local communities of their arrival. They acquired allies to help fend off the British, causing them to retreat to Lexington and then continue to Boston. The Americans were successful in destroying a large portion of the soldiers that were originally brought into the surprise attack. This proved to the Americans how victorious they could be if
