Sometimes our past experience shapes who we are and how we treat others. An example of this Beli from the novel The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz. Beli is that type of person who doesn't take anything from anyone. she has a very strong personality and we can see this by the way she's described. Her parents is style could be described as hard and honest. She has his expectation of how she wants her kids to be and act that is just not realistic. Which resulted on her and her kids having a complicated relationship. Her relationship with her daughter, Lola it's awful. Lola truly hates her mother. When Lola becomes a punk chick, her and her mother’s relationship gets worse. Their relationship is so awful that Lola sees her mother's sickness as an opportunity to escape her her wrath. But with her likes she draws the attention of the wrong men. One night Beli went out to the club and she saw this handsome man and she started dancing with him after a while they start building up on relationship but he was a married man. He’s wife was Trujillo’s sister. So when she found out about their relationship she send a couple of men to beat up. In the novel it says, “You hijos de puta! I'm pregnant! Do you understand! Pregnant! She spun to where the crone had held court, but she had inexplicably vanished...And she ran, tears popping out of her eyes, but not before taking one last kick at grunts.” Beli doesn’t want Lola to make the same mistake she made.
