Each animal in every ecosystem play an enormous role where they’re native to. In the Everglades, the native species of the snail kite thrive and flourish in the large overlapping trees of the marshes. But then, a cheetah patterned reptile juts his head out from the mangy bushes and snaps the poor snail kite right in half in one pinch. In muddy and murky marshes, the American Alligator swims freely, bobbing it’s eyes up and down to see over the murky water. Then you hear the cock of a gun “Crrrrrok!” and then the speedy bullet hitting the poor alligator smack dab in the middle of his forehead. For those of you who are wondering, “What exactly is an invasive species?”, well they are animals that are taken from their native habitat and placed into another habitat, in which they annihilate almost all of the native population of where they’re at. A good example of an invasive species is the current problem of the Burmese Python in the Florida Everglades. You may be asking, “How do these invasive animals get here if they’re not from here?”, well people nowadays want new and more exotic types of pets, rather than your ordinary cat or dog. And so these people went out and bought themselves a cool Burmese Python. They raised the python from the egg and then “Oh no, he’s too big and mean for me to take care of him!”, then they let them go out into the wild. And as soon as that happens, they escape to the Everglades. Where they eat and wipe out many animals. Including the Snail Kite, a migratory bird who is a native species to the Everglades and is now an endangered animal due to the Burmese Python, plus plenty of other various animals.
