In researching the Casey Anthony case to determine whether or not I believe that she is criminally responsible for her daughter's death, was made clear to me that her parents should have played a more significant role in the investigation. It is cases such as this one and the Jon Benet Ramsey case that exposes these jurisdictions, as they attempt to present insufficient evidence. Their flawed case only leaves the victim without justice. The choice that was made by Casey Anthony not to inform the police about her missing daughter is a direct reflection of her moral values. These views raise the opinion that criminals are not always free to choose and act as they desire. That Casey actions were not chosen freely and that she ultimately did not have a choice. Humans are sometimes subjected to a variety of influences, that only force us to act, but compels us to act (Williams & Arrigo, 2012). When it applies to Casey Anthony’s angel on determinism, it explained that every event has a cause. So whether it be that the death of Caylee was because of some other event or condition, there was still an element that specific choices caused the tragic event. It is explained that every event is connected to a previous event, and if they first event did not happened neither will the second event. The choices that we make are related to our thoughts and feelings, relating to present circumstances or thing in our past. So with some evidence coming out in the trial of Casey Anthony possibly being sexually abused by her father and brother and also that she partied while her daughter was missing, may have directed came from a choice that someone made in her past.
