The "Cask of Amontillado" begins with Montresor, an unreliable narrator, that introduces the story that Fortunato irrevocably insulted him. Although Montresor has an intricate plan to murder Fortunato, he cautiously refrains from specifying what Fortunato did to arouse his anger. I assumed the story would be very dramatic with the ironic aspects, but it was actually humorous to me. In fact, I could never get over the fact Fortunato is dressed as a jester throughout the whole story of his murder. Other examples of humorous irony include when Fortunato is about to be buried alive he drinks a wine named Grave and the man's name is Fortunato, but he isn't so fortunate that night.
