For this discussion assignment reading I chose the short story of The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County that was written by Mark Twain in 1867. The reason that I selected this story it was about the life of gambler.

In this story it was about Jim Smiley, who was the man that loves to gamble and will offer to bet on anything, from horse races, cat fight, and chicken fight to dogfights to parson walker. Then He catches a frog, which he gave a name as Dan'l Webster and trained the frog on how to jump, after that when a stranger visited, Jim Smiley showed Dan'l Webster to him and offered to bet 40 Dollars that he can out-jump any other frog in Calaveras County, the stranger said that he would take the bet if he had a frog, and Jim went
