The Chosen One Book Comparison

“The Chosen One” and “Game of Catch” both have a deeper meaning further into the book. The book held more meaning deeper into the passage than the surface of the book. The stories both have very different plots, but in some ways they are similar. Throughout Tigers story and the boy from the game of throw and catch I noticed that they resembled similar parenting styles similar to my parents.
The Chosen One held many similarities to The Game of Catch. The discipline that the kids were given was in very similar styles being strict and having very high expectations for their kids. In The Chosen One Tiger’s dad states “Yes, because he has a larger forum than any of them. Because he’s playing a sport that’s international. My parents relate to Tiger because of the expectations they have in me are just as high as the expectations Tigers parents have for him. Tigers dad states “ I acknowledge only a small part in that...to nurture this young man...and bring him to the point where he can make his contribution to humanity… this is my treasure… please accept it...and use it wisely… Thank you”. This quote is Tiger’s dad Earl speaking about how he helped raise his son to where he is now. Both of my parents hold me to a very high standard, and want me to the be the best that I can be. Achieve my goals to my furthest extent, and they will not stop pushing me to my breaking point because they want me to get better and live out my dreams. This is in relation to Tiger because as a kid he was pushed and pushed to be the best at what he loved which is the sport of golf.
