Hate crime and hate speech are like gas and car; one thing cannot live without the other. Much of the time hate speech was the main reason of cause a hate crime. Hate speech has a long history of the United States no matter before slavery or after slavery. In the beginning, most the hate speech was target African American, but in late on the day hate speech were against mankind. Many states passed a law in the 1980s and 1990s forbidding hate speech. The supreme court overruled that law in 1992, hate speech cannot be banned on the basis of its content. Hate speech is the thing that most people always pay an attention to.
