In the Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus reveals his arrogant yet smart sides during his journey home to Ithaca.

Odysseus acts or seems to act at times arrogant, when tests come to interrupt his journey, For example, when Odysseus visits the cyclops, he feels betrayed and outsmarted, and ends up trapped in the cyclops cave. this shows that Odysseus did not take the best decision in calling back at the cyclops when they had finally escaped. Odysseus saw the cyclops getting indignant towards them, and starts vociferating him again. In addition, Odysseus gets angry and furious when Penelope tells her servant to take out their bed.
