This book takes place in England, from 1542, when Elizabeth is 9 years old until 1558, when she becomes queen. The story is being told by Elizabeth as she struggles to survive her life as princess. The Redheaded Princess will take you into Queen Elizabeth the first's mind from when she was sent away by her father after her mother was beheaded, all the way to her struggle as the Protestant sister of a Catholic Queen. As the narrator of the book, Elizabeth is the main character. She is very cunning, brave, and stubborn to the point of risking the danger
