Annie Dillard’s essay “The Deer at Providencia,” expresses that whether you are animal or human, pain is unavoidable. She seems to believe that pain is a part of life that everyone has to go through and is something that one must accept. That is why when she noticed the deer’s neck “showed red striped and some bruises bleeding inside the muscles.” (Line 43) she had no reaction on her face.
