Postman stated his opinion on how he and others believe that this thing called “childhood” is disappearing. Every argument brought up with his book he had a good amount of evidence and details to support it. Some of the evidence he use was from other books and theorist who shared their belief on the subject of childhood. Also the organization of the book made it easy to follow the process of childhood appearing to it gradually disappearing. But one thing I didn’t like about the book is the use of so many other theorists in the beginning and it got bit confusing trying to understand who believes what. I had to reread parts over to get a clear and better understanding. The Disappearance of Childhood is great book and I do believe people who are talking a class on Multimedia Studies because of how Postman explained how inventions talked about in the class have an effect on the society. Also this book would be good for people who are interested in early childhood and development because he does bring up different theorist and their belief on how a child develops. Lastly this book would be good for parents who are raising a child and the book might open their eyes to what the society really is
