The book Anthem, written by Ayn Rand, is a very dystopian novella. This book is fiction, but it incorporates some of the problems we may face in the future. The characters in Anthem are prohibited to use the word “I”. The story and its characters revolve around the thought of, everyone is a part of a whole, no one is an island to himself. If a person found breaking these beliefs, they may be sent to prison – or death. The government’s strong belief of teamwork, people in this dystopic world may be convicted of death if found using the ‘unmentionable word’.
