Haiti, an island country in the Caribbean, is home to about 10.32 million people. Due to the fact

that Haiti has so many people there government is a semi presidential republic. The president is

elected and the prime minister acts as head of government. Most of Haiti lives in extreme pover- ty. 58.6% of the country lives in poverty, 24.7% lives in extreme poverty ("Haiti", n.d). Given

their extreme poverty, 40% of the population has basic health care and the rest have to scrounge

up money every time they take a trip to the hospital ("Healthcare",2015). Haiti is known as the

poorest country in the western hemisphere. Making up 87% of their exports, textiles is a big part

of Haiti's economy. Since Haiti isn't very well off, they have
