The electoral college is unfair and should be abolished. “The electoral college is a process, not a place.” (page one of source one) The electoral college was founded by our forefathers and put it into the Constitution. It is a vote by Congress to determine the President or Vice-President; it is made up of five hundred and thirty eight electors. The person who gets the majority of the votes ,which is two hundred and seventy, will win the presidential election ,but there are a couple of things that are unfair and do not resemble the will of the people.

This is even worse than the electoral college because in Wyoming just one representative vote is worth a whopping five hundred thousand voters. This is very unfair because currently there are four hundred and thirty five representatives that means that if just one hundred of them vote for one candidate then that is worth fifty million votes. Not only this but the Senate will pick the Vice-President.

The main reason why we still have the electoral college is because it can avoid run off elections. This is true but the elections rarely have ties. Even if the other candidate has one percent more votes than the other candidate they should still win. It might also give the second candidate an unfair advantage because it gives them a second chance and because the electoral votes are worth so much.

The electoral college is an unfair and unconstitutional process. Not only does give an unfair advantage to the losing candidate but it also does not resemble the will of the people. And if there is a tie in the electoral college then the vote will go to a more unfair way of determining who won the election. The president should be voted by the people not the
