The Fight of Antietam was fought on September 17, 1862. It is carefully thought about/believed to be the bloodiest fight in all of American history, with more than 6,000 deaths. America's most successful Civil War history expert, James M. McPherson, can grab and take control of his reader's attention by capturing the account of this historic fight, the events that led up to it, and the bad after-effects that followed.
