The religion of Islam is a monotheistic religion that is similar to both Christianity and Judaism. Muhammad was the founder of the Islamic religion. Even though they have their similarities to Christianity and Judaism, the Muslims have a special way they pray that is unique to their religion and there a Muslims all over the world who pray this way.

Many people do not notice that Christianity, Judaism, and Islamic religions are all very similar. The founder of Islam is Muhammad and like the prophets that Christians and Jews have, Muhammad is the prophet of Islam. “Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith” said Muhammad.The book the Qu’ran is about Muhammad and his journey, of him teaching others of kindness and sharing, which he believed in strongly. The Qu’ran is very similar to the Bible and the Torah. Each religion believes in one God and in Arabic god translates to Allah. Jihad, a term unique to Islam, means “holy war” but also a struggle or effort. It can be an internal struggle to be loyal to their religion as best they can or it can also be war, protecting their religion. In the Qu’ran there are The Five Pillars of Islam. There is Shahada the Pillar of Faith, Zakat the Pillar of sharing wealth, Ramadan the Pillar of Fasting, Hajj the Pillar of the Pilgrimage to Mecca, and Salat the Pillar of Daily Ritual Prayer.

Each time a Muslim prays they face towards Mecca. If you are in a mosque, like a church but Islamic, there is a mihrab or a niche in the wall that is towards Mecca. If you are praying some Muslims prefer to put down a prayer rug to kneel on, but you do not have to.
